We are pleased to participate once again in Read ME, the Maine Humanities Council’s statewide community read offered in partnership with Maine State Library and Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Every summer, the program gets Mainers all reading books recommended by well-known Maine authors.
This year’s selecting author, Maine Poet Laureate Julia Bouwsma, has chosen American Breakdown: Our Ailing Nation, My Body’s Revolt, and the Nineteenth Century Woman Who Brought Me Back to Life by Jennifer Lunden, and The Great Transition by Nick Fuller Googins. We’ll be discussing Jennifer Lunden’s book on Wednesday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m., and Nick Fuller Googins’ book on Wednesday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m. We have multiple copies of both books for loan; please check with us for availability.
