
According to the USDA, three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about 35 percent of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. Bees, butterflies and moths, birds and bats, and beetles and other insects require specific plants to provide the food they need in order to survive and pollinate the food we need.
The library is pleased to host an informational talk by Lourdes Maria Engel, University of Maine Master Gardener Volunteer, Oxford County Cooperative Extension–and a certified Pollinator Gardener–on the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Pollinator Garden Certification, Tips for creating your own pollinator garden will be included!
