2025 Annual Appeal

The Annual Appeal is our largest fundraiser. All contributions matter, and are gratefully received. Click the link below to view an electronic copy of the mailer, which includes our president’s letter and some highlights of the year. You may donate through our website using a credit card, by mailing us a check, or even by bringing us cash. Thank you for your support!

Storytime

Storytime for Young Children is held each Thursday at 10:00. Join us to talk, sing, read, write and play–all the elements that help get kids ready to read!

HVL Kids: Read with Ally the Therapy Dog

We are thrilled to welcome our newest volunteer, Ally the Therapy Dog! Reading to animals can help build confidence and improve read-aloud skills. Ally (and her human, Patti Dann) will be in the children’s room, waiting to listen to good books, each Thursday from 4:30-5:30.

HVL Kids: ArtWednesday

Stop by with your kids any time between 2:00-5:30 on Wednesdays to make art and browse books!

Ask a Pharmacist

Ann Macro, a licensed Maine pharmacist, will be here to answer questions about your medications on Mondays from 1:00-3:00 beginning November 10. Topics may include, but are not limited to, side effects, potential interactions, and how to take the medicine. Registration is required; register by calling the library at 583-2970, or emailing the library director.

Adult Chess Club

Led by volunteer Reed Foster. Chess club meets the third Saturday of every month from 10:00-12:00. 18+; all ability levels are welcome. Please contact Kathleen at director@harrisonvillagelibrary.org to register.

Book Club

Our next Book Club meeting will be Saturday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m., when we’ll discuss Breaking Bread: Essays from New England on Food, Hunger and Family, edited by Deborah Joy Corey and Debra Spark. New members are always welcome!

Book Donations
