March 18: Oppenheimer

J. Robert Oppenheimer played an integral role in developing the first atomic bomb. Throughout the development of the bomb, Oppenheimer struggled with justifying a creation that came to cause so much damage. He questions whether he owes it to scientific discovery to create something capable of so much power.

March 25: Poor Things

Based on Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel of the same name, the story follows the resurrection of Bella. Through unorthodox experimentations with human life and death, scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter raises the young woman back to life. However, her newer version finds her relearning about the world and its ways. At the same time, she discovers inequalities that restrict women in a conservative society. What follows is her newfound quest to pursue liberation and equality.
Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos; starring Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Vicki Pepperdine, Ramy Youssef, Mark Ruffalo. Winner of the Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling.
April 1: The Holdovers

With no family or friends, disagreeable schoolteacher Paul Hunham ends up staying at school during Christmas break to supervise holdover students who can’t travel home for the holidays. Troublemaker Angus and head cook Mary build an unexpected bond with Paul on campus. Together, they go through hilarious adventures, celebrating Christmas in their own unique way.
